The Organization of Nurse Executives, Connecticut (ONE- CT) is a statewide, professional association committed to supporting nurse leaders in Connecticut. As an affiliate of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, our mission is to provide direction and leadership for the advancement of nursing practice and patient care in organized health care systems, in the achievement of excellence in nursing practice and in the shaping of policy affecting health care delivery from the perspective of nurse leaders.
This year, several nurse leaders in Connecticut have expressed a desire to serve at the board level and you can view their profiles by following the link above. In addition, we have new interest in committee membership and many of you have submitted “willingness to serve” forms. These leadership commitments assure succession of talent for ONE - CT as we embark on an exciting period in our nation's health service history.
We will kick off our 2012 agenda at our ANNUAL MEETING on January 30th when AONE President, LAURA CARAMONICA, will summarize the political status of nurse leadership in the U. S. today and present the AONE priorities for 2012. This will be a special meeting considering Laura’s Connecticut roots and the fact that Region I is hosting the AONE Annual Meeting in Boston in early spring.
The Annual Meeting will be the forum to confer the Pamela Vecchiarino Leadership Award and to announce our newly elected board members. Please take this opportunity to renew your membership and assure that your VOTE is counted. You can register for our Annual Meeting on this visit to our website as well.
Connecticut is fortunate to have many talented and visionary nurse leaders. Come to our meetings and meet like- minded, collaborative and committed nurses who are comfortable in their “leadership” skin. We need you, we welcome you and we look forward to hearing your ideas.
On behalf of the Board and the membership, I thank you for your commitment in 2011 and wish you a Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Maura McQueeney
President, Organization of Nurse Executives, Connecticut (ONE- CT)
